Shirley M. Birden, age 49, a resident of Chicago, died Friday, December 7, at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. She was born June 7, 1958 in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Shirley worked as a Respiratory Therapist for Medical Staffing Solutions.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Didona; her mother, Carrie Moore; her two sons, Philip and Patrick Birden-Didona; her great-uncle, LC (Doris) Mitchell of Colorado; her cousins of Chicago, Jannie Pearson, Murray Mitchell, Brenda Reece, Vincent Mitchell, and Darryl Mitchell; and a host of friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, from 6:00 P.M. until the time of a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. at the Mont Clare location of new Life Community Church, 2501 N. Nordica Ave., Chicago, IL 60707. Interment is private.
