Ruth Gustavson, nee Larsen, 88 of Hometown, IL passed away on Wednesday, December 14, at home. She was born on January 12, 1923 to Christ and Marie Larsen.
Ruth and the late Herbert Gustavson were married for 59 years. She is survived by her loving daughter Diane Crook and son-in-law Steve Crook; devoted grandchildren Steve (Julia) Crook, Julie (Dave) Kalvelage, Kevin (Stacey) Crook and Jeff Crook; darling great grandchildren Steve, Brianna, Mitch, Will, Diana and Ethan; loving brothers and sisters Clara Masterson, Anna Harvey, Leonard Larsen and Raymond Larsen. Ruth was predeceased by brothers Alf Larsen, Clarence Larsen and William Larsen.
Ruth's parents came to the United States from Norway. She was extremely proud of her Norwegian heritage. Ruth grew up in Chicago, IL and lived in Hometown, IL for the last 61 years. She was a longtime member of Oak Lawn Bible Church and taught Sunday School for 20 years. She was devoted to her family and loved being a wife, mom, grandma and great grandma.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 19, from 4-8 P.M. at Oak Lawn Bible Church, 9435 S. 54th Ave.,Oak Lawn, IL 60453 where services will be held on Tuesday, December 20 at 10 A.M. Interment will follow at Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery in Willow Springs, IL.
