Robert "Bob" Vicker, age 82, a resident of Oak Lawn, IL, since 1961, went to be with the Lord, suddenly on Monday, March 9, 2020, while camping in Alabama.  He was born February 8, 1938 in Chicago to Louis and Erna Vicker.

Bob graduated in 1956 from Blue Island Community High School, where he met Lucille Schackow.  They were married on June 6, 1959.  After attending the University of Illinois in Chicago, Bob owned and operated a milk delivery company. After selling his business, he began working on computers for Barton Brands and then began a long career as a truck driver for USF Holland, where he made many lifelong friends.

In retirement Bob and Lucy enjoyed camping, traveling to every state except Hawaii.  They have enjoyed being members of the camping group, Escapees.

Bob's Christian faith was central to his life and he often encouraged others with God's love.  He was an active member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Downers Grove where for 25 years he worked in the church finances.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucille, three children, Tracy (Dennis) Doherty, David (Debra) Vicker and Wendy (Mike) Cusick, eight grandchildren, Ronald (Heather) Czimra, Holly (James) Gossage, Gabriel Joyce, Jennifer (Paul) Aleman, Elizabeth (Rodrigo) Cambron, Robert Vicker, Erin Cusick and Morgan Cusick, and ten great-grandchildren, Trinity, Christopher, Mackenzie, Ryan, Maddison, Liam, Nicholas, Isabel, Rodrigo Jr. and Noreda. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Perry and two brothers, Glenn (Paula) Vicker and Mark (Rose) Vicker.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terry Lynn Vicker and his parents.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, 525 63rd St, Downers Grove, IL 60516 (630) 852-1519, where a funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m.  Private interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens South in Oak Lawn, IL.
