Robert D. Elder, age 78, a resident of Tinley Park for 37 years, died Tuesday, June 17, at Palos Community Hospital. He was born June 12, 1930 in Grove City, PA.

Bob was a longtime member of Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park. He also volunteered at the Methodist Church Food Pantry in Tinley Park, He loved to travel and especially enjoyed his summer home, "Woodsmoke Ranch" in Seneca, IL.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wanda; his two daughters, Judy (Dan) Pettas of Orland Park, and Mary (Matt) Davison of Elkhorn, WI; his seven grandchildren, John, Mary, Julia, Robert, and Gabriel Pettas, and Mollie and Jack Davison; and his sister, Nancy Griffin of Greenville, PA.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 23, from 9:30 A.M. until the time of a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Parkview Christian Church, 183rd and Wolf Road, in Orland Park. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
