Marjorie J. Roberts, age 89, a resident of Elk Grove Village, IL, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Ascension Alexian Brothers - Hospice Residence, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

She was the devoted wife of 68 years to Tom Roberts; Loving mother of Tom (Denise) Roberts, Tim (Liz) Roberts, Lynn Roberts (Matt Sass) and Ann (Jim) Brown.  Beloved grandmother of Lindsay Roberts, Jacob (Lanai)Brown, Wes Brown, Emily (Cowan) Brown, Lauren Brown, Scott Roberts, Caroline Roberts, Tommy Roberts, Taylor Brown and Jack Roberts, and loving great-grandmother to Carter Brown, Kennedy Brown & Isaiah Brown. Marjorie was proceeded in death by 2 brothers and four sisters, her granddaughter Lauren, son Tim and husband Tom.

Marjorie was born April 18, 1935 in the river and railroad town of Burlington, IA, during the Great Depression.  After high school she worked in a doctor's office where she met drug salesman and future husband, Tom.  The family relocated a number of times following Tom's career, but for the majority of time they lived in Des Moines, IA and Elk Grove, IL.

She lived for Jesus and family, and thrived among family & church.  Quiet and humble, putting everyone and everything before herself, and with her humorous deadpan remarks and easy laughter, she was endeared to many.  While petite, she had remarkable physical strength and toughness not apparent due to her gentle nature.  The family will now commence to fighting over her food recipes!

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 6, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, with the service at 11:00 am, at The Village Point Church, 801 Beisner Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.  Following the service, interment will be at North Cemetery, 1205 N 5th Ave, St. Charles, IL 60174.
