Joyce M Pelling, age 78, a resident of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and Naples, Florida, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior September 20, 2020. She was born October 9, 1941 to Raymond and Edith Hyer.

Joyce graduated with honors from Downers Grove North High School in 1959. She attended nursing training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and was pinned a RN in 1962. Her career in nursing included time at Lacon Clinic, Home Health Care, Corporate nurse at Arthur Andersen & Co., and Moose Heart. She went back to school to become a licensed massage therapist in 1997. Her healing hands blessed many throughout her life. When she wasn't caring for others she could be found behind a video camera at several area churches. There wasn't a day that passed that she wasn't looking for an opportunity to share the saving grace of Jesus with those whose path she crossed. She was full of life and always on the go. She enjoyed planning elaborate themed Christmas parties full of meaning and fun. Her 5 D's kept her busy taking them from activity to activity. Many hours were spent teaching her children, grandchildren and neighborhood children the Word of God. Her strong faith put the love of Jesus into action. She modeled love for her family by always being there for each of them. She demonstrated this love by helping others in need. She had a big and generous heart and will live on in our hearts. On August 13, 1960 she married the love of her life, Raymond Pelling, and recently celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. In the last years of her life, you never saw her without Ray! They even ran a golf league together. It was agreed that whatever amount of money Ray spent on golf, she could spend the same amount at garage sales. There was never a great bargain that she missed! She was always thinking of others and loved finding that perfect gift for someone. Walking was a favorite pastime with friends or anyone in her family which provided the perfect opportunity to share heartfelt conversation. She lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed a good laugh.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Raymond; her children, Deborah (Joseph) Lopez, Dawn (Timothy) Ward, Daniel (Jackie) Pelling, David Pelling, Dora (Michael) Sutcliffe; her grandchildren, Ken (Heather) Lopez, Nick Lopez, Matthew (Heidi) Lopez, Marissa (Ross) Beyer, Jennifer Ward, Benjamin (Lindsey) Ward, Joseph (Hannah) Pelling, Jeffrey Pelling, Ashley (Joel) Zachacki, Brandon Sutcliffe, J. Edward (Kimberly) Pelling, Hazel-Rose Sutcliffe, Paul Sutcliffe; her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Joel sons of Ken (Heather) Lopez, Lilly daughter of Ashley (Joel) Zachacki, Oliver son of Benjamin (Lindsey) Ward, Aiden son of Marissa (Ross) Beyer; her sibling Barbara Brown.

A visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Church , 130 Shawnee Dr., Carol Stream, Illinois 60188. Interment will be held at Clarendon Hills Cemetery . A luncheon will follow at Chuck's Southern Comfort Cafe , 8025 S. Cass Ave., Darien, Illinois 60561.
