Joyce E. Marrs, nee Teser, age 71, a resident of Elk Grove Village, died Sunday, October 11, at home. She was born May 9, 1938 in New Bedford, MA.

She graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 1962 and worked as a missionary in Brazil for 14 years. She also worked for 3M, Alexian Brothers Medical Center, and for Medinah Country Club as an executive secretary. She was a member of Elk Grove Baptist Church for 28 years.

Joyce was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a missionary, a Bible teacher, an executive secretary, a listener, a counselor, a confidant, and a prayer warrior; but, most of all she was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John H. Marrs; two daughters, Rebecca (Robert) deWidt of Centerville, MN, and Raquel (Rick) Nelsen of Elk Grove Village, IL; five grandchildren, Melissa, and Christopher deWidt, and Julia, Jenna, and Joelle Nelsen; her brother, Karl J, (Gloria) Teser of Papillion, NE; and many loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Florence Teser.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, from 3-9 P.M. at Elk Grove Baptist Church, 801 Beisner Road, in Elk Grove Village, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven, MA.
