Jay P. Weber, age 78, a resident of Batavia, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021. He was born May 2, 1943 in Woodstock, IL to George & Helen Weber.

Jay graduated from Aurora High School in 1961 and continued his education at business school where he completed his studies in 1964. He worked for 60 years for Jewel Food Stores in multiple positions. He also was a movie projectionist for over 20 years and active in the IATSE Local Union 110. He was a longtime member of Valley View Baptist Church in St. Charles, IL and Grace Community Church in Yorkville, IL where he served in AWANA for many years. Jay was a true handyman and a skilled woodworker. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with family.

He is survived by his children: Scott (Jennifer) Weber of Canandaigua, NY, John Weber of AK, Jeff (Suzane) Weber of North Aurora, IL, Carol (Barry) Mutehart of Hampshire, IL, Karen (Brandt) Hubal of Circle Pines, MN, Peter Weber of Aurora, IL, & Jonathan Weber of Chicago; seven grandchildren, Michael, Melody, Matt, Andy, Violet, Jacob & Matthew; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Aaron, Emily, Evelyn & Eva. Also survived by his sisters Jane Simmons & Linda (Brian) Lakner and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Aileen Ruby Weber and his parents.

A visitation will be held at Grace Community Church, 1108 Mill St., Yorkville, Illinois , on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jay's memory may be directed to Grace Community Church or a charity of your choice.
