James E. Rogers, age 64, a lifetime resident of Palos Hills, IL, died peacefully at home on Monday, December 22, 2008. He was born in Evergreen Park, IL on July 11, 1944.

Jim retired from 3M, where he worked for 37 1/2 years. He was a believer in Jesus Christ who worshipped at Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park, IL. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golf, competitive running, and racquetball, and was a former member of the Palos Racquetball Club. He loved to travel to Florida and enjoyed the company of his friends in the warm weather. He had two beloved cats, Harley and K.C. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; his sons, Blake, Brian and Bobby; and his daughter, Patty (Matt) Gaffney; his brother, William (Judith) Rogers; sister, Ellen Rogers, Thomas (Beverly) Rogers, and Mary Lynn (Michael) Cleveland; his many nieces and nephews; and his cherished grandchildren, Ava Marie, Matthew and Isabelle Gaffney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Rogers; and his sister, Judith "Judy" Rogers.

A memorial service will be held on January 11th at 3:00 P.M. at Parkview Christian Church, 11100 Orland Parkway, 183rd and Wolf Rd., in Orland Park, IL, with Pastor Lonnie Caha conducting the service.

Jim's family has requested donations for melanoma research to the American Cancer Society, 17060 Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park, IL 60477.
