Florence Richter, age 94, a longtime resident of the Hollywood area of Brookfield and currently a resident of Lombard, died Tuesday, October 24, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice. She was born on October 22, 1912 in Chicago.
In 1941 she married Irvin Richter. They built a home in Brookfield, where she lived until 2004. She was a longtime member of the Brookfield Baptist Church and a lifelong Cubs fan. Florence was known for her strong faith, wonderful sense of humor and kindness to others.
She is survived by one son Robert (Betty) Richter of Joliet, three grandchildren, Douglas (April) Richter, Daniel Richter and Heidi Richter all of Hinsdale, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Irvin and eight siblings.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Brookfield Baptist Church, Fairview and Sunnyside, Brookfield, Illinois, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor David Fink officiating.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
