Ellen Virginia
Anderson
Aug 21, 1935 — Feb 14, 2023
Chicago
Ellen Virginia Anderson, age 87, a resident of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. She was born August 21, 1935 in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband General Anderson; her mother Ellen Kelly Taylor & her father Ludie White; her brothers and sisters: Samuel, Orange, Laura, Willie, Lillie & John.
Ellen is survived by her sister: Ludie Jackson and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ellen decided to pursue her education and graduated from the 7th grade from Austin evening School for adults at the age 29 years old. She earned her GED certificate at age 36 years old, passed the GED test with an above average grade, with God's grace and those the Lord sent to tutor her. Ellen pursued a nursing degree at Triton Community College and received her RN degree in 1989. By God's grace, Ellen finished all adult education, and health care Nurse training programs without any government financial assistance. Ellen retired as a Registered Nurse in 2001 at 77 years old with God's provisions, after 32 years of service in the medical field. I share this info as encouragement only to anyone, any age who desire to better their lives through education, by going back to School as an adult. Difficult, yes!! Nothing is impossible! "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". (Philippians 4:13)
"All Praise be To God for the people that he sent into my life to help me learn to work and carry out my life of service to God."
Ellen's deepest Passion was to point children, and anyone who was willing to listen, to Jesus. If we confess our sins, God is Just to forgive sin and to cleanse from all unrighteousness at any age. (1 John 1:8,9)
Born into Eternal Life, Sailed away Date 2/14/2023
"Sailed Away" - A Lone Voyager
Sometime at eve when the tide is low, I slipped my mornings and sailed away, with no response to the friendly hails of kindred crafts in the busy Bay.
In the silent hush of the twilight pale when the night stoop down to embrace the day; when the voices call and the waters flow sometime at Eve when the tide were low, I slipped my mooring and sailed away;
through purple shadows that darkly trailed over ebbing tide of an unseen Sea, it shall fare me away with a dip of my sails and a ripple of water to tell my tale, of a lone voyager sailing away to Heavenly Isles where my anchor lay.
(Jesus is our Anchor)
The crafts of those who sailed before over an unseen sea to an unseen shore.
And there: "I shall see Him face to face the one who saved me by his grace"
