Delbert C. Loyd, age 59, a resident of Montgomery, IL, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at home. He was born November 23, 1950 in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Del graduated from Sandwich High School. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 33 years as a welder. He attended Calvary Church in Naperville, IL for ten years where he served as an usher.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha; two sons, Jeremiah (Lori) of TX, and Joshua D. of Montgomery, IL; daughter, Jennifer Lynn, also of Montgomery, IL; grandchildren, Jasmine Anyana, Jody Jeremiah, Jeremiah Anthony, and Jacob Daniel; parents, Benny and Lucille, of OK; brothers, Gene (Joan), and Jess; sister, Brenda (Don) Rahn; step-granddaughter, Jillian; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jody Lee; grandparents, Hubert and Ruby Loyd, and John and Phoebe Gaston; parents-in-law, Manuel and Sofia Salazar; and his brother-in-law, Manuel III.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, from 4-8 P.M. at Calvary Church, 9S200 Route 59, in Naperville, IL, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, February 5 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
