Obituary

Dawn Lynn Zdziarski, age 65, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday morning, December 15, 2020. She was born on November 16, 1955, in Chicago, IL, and has lived there all her life. She was the youngest child of Geraldine and Donald Spielman. Her mother made sure Dawn and her sister and brothers were in church growing up. As adults, Dawn and her mom became members of Garfield Ridge Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, VBS worker, choir member, and filled in wherever she could. Dawn worked at Toys R Us for almost 30 years and later at Hobby Lobby and Pticeks Bakery.

She met the love of her life, Glenn, at church and they were married on June 5, 1993. The Lord blessed Dawn and Glenn; and on June 8, 1994, they had their first child, Rebecca Lynn and four and a half years later, on January 14, 1999, she gave birth to their son Zachary Taylor. Dawn was an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator, and with her husband shared their love of papercrafting with many. Dawn was a very caring and loving wife and mother. She always put Christ first in her life and this devotion to Christ is also shared by her husband and children. She will be forever missed but Dawn knew Christ as her Saviour and has a home in Heaven with Him. One day, if we know Him, we too will join her.

Preceded in death by father, Donald Spielman; and sister, Barbara Schwartz. Dawn is survived by her husband, Glenn Zdziarski; daughter, Rebecca Hallman and husband Caleb Hallman; son, Zachary Zdziarski; mother, Geraldine Spielman; brother,  Ronald Spielman and wife Rose Spielman; brother, John Spielman and wife Ellen Spielman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 9 am with a service starting at 11 am at Garfield Ridge Baptist Church, 5520 South Narragansett Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60638, with Pastor Harold Teesdale and Pastor Courtney Lewis officiating. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a memorial donation to Garfield Ridge Baptist Church.
