Carmella Menconi, nee Marckese, age 91, formerly a longtime resident of Melrose Park, died on Sunday, August 10, 2008 in Palos Hills. She was born on January 13, 1917 in Melrose Park to Pasquale and Pasqualina Marckese.

She married William Menconi in 1937. Together they were active at the Melrose Park Christian Assembly, currently New Life Community Church, where she taught Sunday School and was involved with Women's Fellowship.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Richard) Johnson of Palos Hills, two grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Rutherford of Romeoville and Andrew (Carolyn) Johnson of Orland Park. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Community Church, 2001 W. Division, Melrose Park, where friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Chicago.
