Beth P. Benson, 78, of Prospect Heights, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 12th, at ManorCare Health Services in Rolling Meadows. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February and suffered a major stroke on October 25th.

Beth Benson was born on September 8, 1930, in Chicago, and grew up in the Old Irving Park neighborhood. She married Paul C. Benson on New Year's Eve, 1949, nearly 59 years ago. She devoted her life to her husband, and to their four children, dedicating her efforts to making a loving, Christian home. They raised their family in Park Ridge and moved to Rob Roy in Prospect Heights in 1984. She and her husband are members of Orchard Evangelical Free Church in Arlington Heights.

Mrs. Benson is survived by her husband, Paul; four children; Holly Benson of Oak Park, Joan B. (Gary) Jonland of Port Townsend, WA, Jonathan (Shelley) Benson of Evanston, and Gail B. (Tony) Schaap of Santa Barbara, CA; eight grandchildren, Chad and Kathryn Wilson and Kristin W. Fannin, Isabelle and Ingrid Jonland, and Joe, Mike and Jillian Benson; and one great-grandson, Clint Patrick Fannin. She is also survived by her only brother, Charles (Joan) Petersen of Port St. Lucie, FL.

Services will be held at Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 North Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights, on Monday, Novenber 17th. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM, followed immediately by the funeral service at 11AM. Interment will be private.
