Anne Jeanette Garvin, 89, of La Grange, Illinois slipped peacefully away to be the Lord on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at her home in Plano, Illinois where she had recently moved to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Anne was born in Hinsdale, Illinois on March 30, 1932. She attended Lyons Township Highschool, Class of 1950, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Wheaton College, Class of 1954.

Anne taught science and music as for several years at Wheaton Academy and Butler Middle School. She later also enjoyed teaching a class for partially sighted children at Forest Road School. On June 14, 1958, she married John Philip "Phil" Garvin whom she had met years earlier at Gull Lake Bible and Missionary Conference. Throughout their sixty years of marriage, they used their musical talents together playing piano and organ at La Grange Bible Church, Westchester Bible Church, and Independent Baptist Church.

Anne is survived by her two children: Carol D'Argento (Nick) and John Garvin; three grandchildren: Katie Stearns (Tyler), Jenn Chione, and Joe D'Argento; one great-grandson: Zayden Chione; three siblings: William Gothard, Jr., Laura Heiniger, and David Gothard; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil, her parents, William Whitmore Gothard and Carmen Christina (Torres) Gothard, and two siblings, Joan Musil and Stephen Gothard.

Visitation will be held at Independent Baptist Church, 380 W. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, IL , on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm with a funeral service following at 7:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at a private interment at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, 6900 Cass Avenue, Darien, IL on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 1:00pm.
